What did I learn in England?

Let’s take it day by day!

Day 1

I arrived in Manchester, England after a long flight, getting a bit lost on the underground, and a gorgeous 2 hour train ride through the countryside of England. So glad to have made it safely and was so excited for the next day which was Day 1 of training!

You guys know I have been trained by Colour Me Beautiful UK virtually and I have been with the same trainer for multiple trainings, Jill Clark. I was so eager to met her in person and honestly it felt like seeing an old friend again! Getting to talk with her in person was one of the highlights of this whole trip for me! After the initial hello and meeting all the other amazing trainees, we got right into it.

CMB specializes in tonal colour analysis which is based on the Munsell Color Theory (think I will do a blog post especially for that at a later date!) So far, in a color analysis, I assess hair, eyes, and skin tone to determine you dominant color characteristic. In day one of training, we learned how to use this same theory to determine a clients secondary and tertiary coloring! It was amazing to learn how encompassing and complimentary the full tonal analysis is! We then put that knowledge to the test and looked at all the trainees and what their secondary and tertiary coloring is! For example, I am a Clear dominant, with a Warm secondary, and a Deep Tertiary! This was such an amazing learning experience, and that was just day 1!!!!

Day 2

Today was extra special to me because it was the first time I got to get draped! One of the sad downfalls of a virtual training is that I have never been draped in my colors. I knew exactly what my colors are, but I never got that beautiful OH WOW moment in discovering my colors…But I got to have that moment on Day 2! And OH WOW do I love my colors!

We then had amazing volunteers to put to practice all that we had learned and adding the secondary and tertiary analysis is going to be a game changer. It made the entire consultation more valuable and applicable and personal. I cannot wait to add that knowledge to my consultations in here in Waco! With this, I received my certificate of completion for Advanced Color Training!

Day 3

So if I completed my color training on Day 2…what was Day 3 and Day 4? This has been in the works for a while but I am excited to share that I am now a Style Consultant! I trained with CMB virtually last October and got my advanced training completed while in England! I learned so much these two days that gave me confidence in my business…but also in myself. On Day 3, we talked about style personalities, body shapes, face shapes, proportions, height, and most importantly how to dress each body shape. I learned so much today about how to style myself and other well!

Day 4

I often tell people that the first time I went shopping with my Color Wallet was one of the most confident shopping experiences of my life…well that is now the second most confident shopping experiences of my life! On Day 4, we took a field trip to shop for “case studies” at one of my all time favorite stores, Marks and Spencers. We were given a pretend client with specifics to go shopping for and it was amazing putting all that we learned about color, style personalities, and body shapes into one practice. After our successful case studies, we then got to go around the store and try on things for ourselves with our new knowledge. I am not joking in the slightest when I say that I was almost in tears the whole time because of how confident I finally felt trying on clothes. Knowing my body, my colors, and my personality, I was finally able to shop confidently!

After one of the best experiences of the week, we then got to take our knowledge to some more amazing volunteers. With the culmination of everything we have learned, we sat with them and talked about their goals in a style consultation and gave them knowledge so that they too can shop confidently!

And so ends one of the most incredible weeks in my career. I loved getting to talk with other CMB consultants, learn more knowledge to give people confidence, and the ability to practice it in real time. I come back to Waco with more knowledge, value, services and most importantly…confidence!
